Making Ceramic Trinket Dishes
Hand-Building Technique
Join us for a relaxed, creative day in the studio making your own ceramic trinket dishes using hand-building techniques.
Date: March 14, 2026
Duration: 1 day · 4 hours
Cost: $105.
10 spots available
In this workshop, we’ll start by preparing and compressing clay slabs for you, so you can spend the entire time having fun designing and building. You’ll learn simple hand-building methods to shape and form small dishes—perfect for jewelry, keys, or little everyday treasures. Then to finish off the day, you will make garden markers for your herbs or funny sayings for your indoor plants.
Each participant can expect to create 4–6 small trinket dishes and a handful of garden markers.
All materials are provided.
Participants are encouraged to bring items to imprint into the clay, such as leaves, crochet textures, stamps, or found objects. We also have a wide variety of texture tools available in the studio for you to use.
The workshop takes place in our home studio tucked away in the woods of Black Creek, BC, way down Macaulay Road, offering a calm and inspiring setting to work with clay.
After the workshop, your pieces will be dried, fired, and finished. You can either pick them up a couple of weeks later or have them shipped to you.
No prior experience necessary—just come ready to create.
